Halo Account Manager

PR & Communications

About Halo

Halo is the communications agency for the people building the future – in space, defence, deep tech, climate and AI.

Our clients are doing hard, world-changing innovation, and our job is to make sure the right people understand why it matters: media, investors, governments, partners and the public.

We do it through sharp strategy, earned media and content that’s impossible to scroll past. We work across some of the most exciting – and sometimes most sensitive – sectors on Earth.

We take the work seriously. We don’t take ourselves too seriously.

The role

We’re looking for an Account Manager with real communications instinct and the ambition to grow fast. You’ll help manage our portfolio of clients – getting under the skin of their world, supporting the strategy, and rolling your sleeves up to deliver across earned and owned media.

You’ll work closely with our MD and Head of Digital, who’ll give you real responsibility and the mentoring to step up quickly.

This is a build-as-you-grow role in a scaling agency. If you want a front-row seat on the technologies shaping the next decade – and the chance to develop into a strategic communicator – this is it.

What you’ll do

Client work

  • Be a key day-to-day contact for your accounts, building the trust that turns clients into long-term partners.
  • Help turn client objectives into communications plans the wider team can deliver against.
  • Learn to spot the moments that matter – when a client is sitting on a story worth telling.

PR and earned media

  • Build relationships with journalists across space, defence, science, tech and climate media.
  • Learn to identify, pitch and land coverage in the outlets that count – and understand the difference between coverage that flatters and coverage that moves the needle.
  • Work on press releases, comment and thought leadership that gets picked up.
  • Support clients and spokespeople ahead of interviews and announcements, and handle sensitive comms with care.

Owned media

  • Support the ideation and oversee scheduling of strategic social content, working with our Head of Digital to support our team to keep it sharp and on-brand.
  • Bring ideas – new formats, angles, campaigns nobody’s tried. We love generative AI, but only when you can’t tell we’ve used it.

Data and growth

  • Pull and interpret reporting for your accounts – and use it to sharpen what we do, not just fill a deck – be open to how AI can enable us to do this better, faster, with actionable insights.
  • Spot opportunities to grow and deepen your client relationships.

What we’re looking for

  • Some experience in PR, communications, social or content – you’ve got craft under your belt and you’re ready to step up.
  • A genuine appetite to grow into PR: pitching, media relationships, client counsel. We’ll mentor you and hand you responsibility fast.
  • A strong writer who can move between a press release, a social post and a client email without dropping quality.
  • Curious and commercially switched-on – you care about why a piece of communication exists, not just what it says.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple clients and deadlines in a fast, scaling agency.
  • Genuinely excited about technology, science and the future. You don’t need to be an expert – you need to be curious.

We’re hiring for instinct, hunger and ambition. We’ll build the rest with you.

What we offer

  • A front-row seat on some of the most important technology stories of the decade.
  • Real ownership and a clear path to grow – we want people who’ll build their careers here.
  • Private healthcare after one year’s continuous employment; six-month probation.
  • Grown-up, flexible working: minimum two days a week in our Newquay office (or full-time if you’d prefer), hybrid the rest. Need a couple of hours for life admin and want to start early instead? Fine by us – and we’ll ask for the same flex back when we’re on a deadline.

About the role

  • This is an FTE roll: 40 hours per week with a paid hour for lunch.
  • This role will require occasional travel within the UK and abroad.
  • Annual leave entitlement is 28 days per annum (inclusive of all UK bank and public holidays).
